- Relationship-listening and responding in role to develop the interplay between characters
- Time and Place-using props, costumes, and furniture to establish a clear setting
- Tension-using stage effects (sound, lighting, technology) to produce audience reactions
- Focus and Emphasis-making artistic choices to sharpen focus and highlight the central theme for the audience
